Tik Tok Influencer Pleads Not Guilty to Murder of Two in California

(ReliableNews.org) – TikTok has become wildly popular over the last couple of years. Recently, authorities accused one of the platform’s creators of a horrific crime.

On October 25, TikTok star Ali Abulaban pleaded not guilty to the murders of his estranged wife, 28-year-old Ana Abulaban and Rayburn Cardenas Barron, 29. Authorities allege the man, who has nearly 1 million followers on the social media platform, installed a listening device on his 5-year-old daughter’s tablet. On Thursday, October 21, he allegedly drove to a San Diego high-rise apartment and killed the two after hearing them talking.

Detectives claim Abulaban confessed to killing his wife and Barron, alleging the two were having an affair. However, Deputy District Attorney Taren Brast says the two were just friends.

Barron reportedly suffered three gunshot wounds, and Ana Abulaban suffered a shot to the head. After the killing, Abulaban allegedly called his mother to confess to the crimes. The deputy DA says he then picked up his 5-year-old daughter from school while still armed, telling the child he hurt her mother.

San Diego Superior Court Judge Kimberlee Lagotta ordered Abulaban held without bond and issued a restraining order prohibiting contact with the child.
