(ReliableNews.org) – Over the last several weeks, the government has been on hold as President Donald Trump and other leaders fight the COVID-19 pandemic. However, now that the country is opening up, their attention is turning elsewhere. Recently, a Republican lawmaker revealed the president wants Congress to turn its attention to a critical issue: prescription drug prices.
Earlier this week, Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA) said the president told Republicans during a closed-door lunch, he’ll sign a bill to lower prices for drugs.
Senate Finance Chair Chuck Grassley at lunch with Trump pitched his bill on controlling prescription drug prices, per senators present.

If this happens, it’ll be a much-needed change for millions of seniors. The rising cost of prescription drugs in the US has left Americans unable to buy life-saving medication. Some people have even died because they couldn’t afford them, and it’s not a small problem. According to a 2019 Gallup poll, roughly 7.5 million seniors can’t afford to pay for their medication. Hopefully, the president will be able to change that.
