(ReliableNews.org) – Former President Donald Trump began targeting Republicans in Name Only (RINOs) at the end of February in an email declaring “No more money for RINOs.” He quickly followed up, issuing a statement adding that RINOs “do nothing but hurt the Republican Party.” It appears those efforts paid off for him.
On April 15, he issued another statement, this time celebrating the news that Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) might not run for reelection at the end of her term. “Great news for the Republican Party!” he wrote.

Trump’s dislike for Murkowski is well known. In February, she joined six other Republicans and voted to convict him at the conclusion of his Senate impeachment trial. As the Associated Press reported at the time, it was the worst betrayal in history during an impeachment proceeding.
Trump concluded his statement by taking a shot at Sen. Liz Cheney (R-WY). She didn’t vote to convict him, but she has been an outspoken critic of Trump.
