(ReliableNews.org) – The US and Venezuela have not had a great relationship for more than a decade, at least. Relations didn’t get much better when Nicolás Maduro took over the country. Recently, President Donald Trump had some thoughts about everything happening there.
On June 19, President Trump spoke to media company Axios and said he was open to meeting with Venezuelan President Maduro. Democrats and others were outraged when they heard the news. They couldn’t understand why Trump would meet with him when the US recognizes Maduro’s rival, Juan Guaidó, as the leader of the South American country — but it makes perfect sense.
Unlike the radical left, I will ALWAYS stand against socialism and with the people of Venezuela. My Admin has always stood on the side of FREEDOM and LIBERTY and against the oppressive Maduro regime! I would only meet with Maduro to discuss one thing: a peaceful exit from power!

The president would like the change of power in Venezuela to be peaceful. Why wouldn’t he try to facilitate that if he could? That’s what a leader is supposed to do, especially the President of the United States.
