(ReliableNews.org) – On January 6, 2021, then-President Donald Trump held a rally for his supporters to thank them for fighting for him and for election security. The rally was peaceful but when it was over, a group of people marched to the US Capitol building to continue protesting while Congress certified the results of the election. Trump announced he has plans for the one-year anniversary of the certification.
On Tuesday, December 21, Trump released a statement announcing plans to hold a press conference on January 6, 2022. He said that he wants to know why Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) isn’t using the January 6 committee to investigate allegations of voter fraud during the 2020 election, which are what led to the unrest that day.
NEW!
President Donald J. Trump:
“Why isn’t the Unselect Committee of highly partisan political hacks investigating the CAUSE of the January 6th protest, which was the rigged Presidential Election of 2020? Does anybody notice that they want to stay as far away from that topic… pic.twitter.com/yep9rDYv5g

The news conference is going to kick off a busy year for the former president. He has endorsed dozens of candidates for races across the country in the hopes of helping Republicans regain the majority in the House and Senate. Trump has also said that the outcome of the midterms will help him decide whether he wants to run for president again. Next year is make or break for the GOP.
