Trump Announces ANOTHER Lawsuit – Details Enclosed!
(ReliableNews.org) – Earlier this month, the FBI carried out a search warrant on former President Donald Trump’s private residence at his Florida club, Mar-a-Lago. Federal agents removed boxes of classified and top secret documents. He has now sued the Department of Justice.
On Monday, August 22, Trump’s legal team filed a lawsuit against the DOJ, asking the court to appoint a special master. This is a neutral third party who would review documents the former president’s legal team has declared are covered under attorney-client privilege, or in this case, executive privilege. Additionally, the lawsuit alleges federal prosecutors violated the 45th POTUS’ Fourth Amendment rights.

The day after the lawyers filed suit, US District Court Judge Aileen Cannon, who was appointed by Trump, responded. She asked the former president’s legal team to clarify a number of points in the suit. The judge asked Trump’s lawyers to explain the precise relief they are seeking. Also, she wanted to know what legal standards apply and why the court has jurisdiction over the request.
Cannon requested that Trump’s legal team submit its response to the questions by August 26. There’s no word on when the judge is going to hear the case against the government; she has not yet scheduled it.
