Trump Team Criticizes Biden Over Mother’s Day Video

(ReliableNews.org) – America celebrated Mother’s Day on May 12 with messages of endearment to women across the country. President Joe Biden’s campaign used the day as an opportunity to attack his opponent, former President Donald Trump. The Republican nominee’s team quickly responded to the criticism.

The Biden-Harris HQ shared a video on Sunday wishing America’s moms a Happy Mother’s Day. Then the video cut to a clip of Trump discussing his family separation policy to combat illegal immigration. The caption on the campaign video declared, “This is how Trump treats mothers.” Another clip played of Border Patrol officers ripping a mother away from her children.

After the immigration clips, a news clip report ran about Trump’s recent comments that he would allow states to monitor women’s pregnancies to ensure they do not receive an abortion. An interview with Trump and Chris Matthews also flashed across the screen showing the former president saying he believes women should face “some form of punishment” for terminating a pregnancy. The Biden campaign also included clips of the presumptive GOP nominee bragging about ending federal abortion protections when the Supreme Court justices he nominated voted against Roe v. Wade.

The campaign ad ended with a message: “Do the moms in your life a favor. Stop Trump.”

Steven Cheung, a spokesperson for Trump, slammed Biden for the ad. He said the president lived a “sad, miserable, cowardly existence” and called the advertisement “disgusting.” He said the president’s team is full of hate and anger because the Republican candidate is living in their “pea-sized brains,” even on that special day.

Lauren Hitt, a spokeswoman for Biden, responded to Cheung and mocked the former president for being mad about his own “extreme record and dangerous agenda” being highlighted in the ad. She went further and said the “only ‘sad, miserable cowardly’ men” treat moms the way the 45th POTUS has.
