(ReliableNews.org) – Donald Trump is currently locked in a battle with Manhattan District Attorney, Cyrus Vance, for eight years of the president’s tax returns. On Monday, August 31, the commander-in-chief’s legal team vowed to keep fighting.
The president’s attorneys submitted a court filing with the 2nd US Circuit Court of Appeals arguing Trump will face “irreparable harm” if he’s forced to hand over his financial records. His legal team said they’re prepared to take the fight all the way to the Supreme Court of the US again if need be.
One day after the filing, the appeals court issued a stay against an order from a lower court forcing Trump’s accounting firm to comply with the subpoena.

The stay is just to allow the case to work its way through the court.
Even if the Manhattan DA ultimately wins the fight, it’s a grand jury subpoena. That means, legally, the records must remain sealed unless criminal charges are filed. None of that is likely to happen before the 2020 election, so the Democrats won’t be able to twist facts in order to attack the president. The court set arguments for September 25.
