(ReliableNews.org) – When the COVID-19 pandemic began, air travel dropped dramatically. Many Americans were afraid of traveling with strangers in such close quarters. Now it seems the tide is finally changing.
According to the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Memorial Day weekend was massive for air travel. Agents screened more than 1.65 million people at airports on Sunday. Fox News reported the numbers are a 368% increase over the same time in 2020. Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas said that more than 5 million travelers passed through TSA checkpoints over the weekend.

In addition to an increase in air travel, there was a 60% jump in the number of people who took to the nation’s roads. The increase in travel both in the skies and on the highways shows that America is finally getting back to normal. That’s welcome news for all of us.
