US Senate GOP Leader Pushes to Stall Biden Nominee

(ReliableNews.org) – President Joe Biden said that he wanted to reach across the aisle during his administration. He promised voters that he was going to unify the county if they elected him. Biden rarely involved the GOP–it’s starting to look like all of his promises were hollow. He has demonstrated his true intent by staffing his cabinet with radical candidates. Republicans are now trying to stop one of his nominees from receiving Senate confirmation.

According to a June 8 report by OAN, Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO) blocked the confirmation of Kiran Ahuja to lead the Office of Personnel Management by placing a hold on the nomination. The senator asked her questions during her confirmation hearing about her support for abortion. He also pressed her on whether or not she supports critical race theory (CRT) — an academic movement that teaches students that America is a racist country.

Hawley’s questions about CRT came after Ahuja reportedly endorsed an article that claimed President Donald Trump’s election in 2016 was an example of white supremacy in America. Hawley’s spokesperson Kelli Ford told CNN that the nominee has a history of “promoting radical critical race theorists.” Her associations warrant more scrutiny, so the senator needs time to get to the bottom of it.
