The U.S. military sent a clear message to those responsible for Friday’s rocket attack that killed a U.S. defense contractor, injured four U.S. troops, and two members of the Iraqi Security Forces.
According to U.S. officials, more than 30 enemy rockets were fired making it the 11th rocket attack on U.S. and Iraqi military forces since late October.
Earlier this month, Secretary of Defense Mike Pompeo blamed Iran for launching two separate rockets attacks on U.S. and Iraqi Forces dating December 9th and 11th at Baghdad International Airport.
Pentagon spokesperson Jonathan Hoffman said Air Force F-15 jet fighters conducted “precision defensive attacks” against Kateab Hezbollah, an Iran-backed Iraqi militia.

As tension between Iran and the United States continues to grow, Secretary of State Pompeo stated that if any Americans were harmed in the future, the attack would be answered with a decisive U.S. response.
Here’s what Sen. Tom Cotton tweeted about the attacks:
If American blood was shed by an Iran-backed group, Tehran ought to face swift and severe consequences. https://t.co/6dsEkQIgM9
