(ReliableNews.org) – The tension between the United States and Iran has been at a boiling point for months, with both sides taking swings at each other. On January 3, 2020, the US military killed Iranian General, Qassem Soleimani, with an airstrike near the Baghdad International Airport.
Wednesday, one British soldier and two Americans lost their lives in a rocket attack at Camp Taji, Iraq. Reports say that 30 rockets were fired, injuring 12 soldiers — 5 seriously. The Iran-backed militia, Kata’eb Hezbollah, has been blamed for the offensive.
In retaliation for the attack, the United States military launched multiple warplanes to hit bases held by the group on Thursday. The Pentagon said the action was defensive in nature to deter future events and is not meant to escalate any conflict with Iran.
Hopefully, these Iranian militias get the message and stop attacking US targets.
