Adding fuel to an already raging fire, Bloomberg News reported on January 23 that Joe Biden’s campaign received a record-breaking $145 million of dark money donations. Putting this in perspective, the amount of anonymous donations spent on Donald Trump’s campaign totaled only $28.4 million.

Serious ethical and legal questions surround the receipt of so-called “dark money” donations because the names of individual donors and groups remain anonymous.
Democrats have cried foul about the use of dark money donations in the past, but Biden appears unconcerned about possible allegations. One can only imagine the potential benefits a candidate could receive from companies and individuals contributing to his campaign without the American public’s knowledge.
