(ReliableNews.org) – The war between Hamas and Israel is still raging. The Jewish state has started a targeted attack on Rafah, a Palestinian city on the Egyptian border. In the United States, anti-Israel protests have rocked college campuses and public spaces. President Joe Biden’s top donors are supporting the protesters.
Biden has continued the US support of Israel in the wake of the October 7 terrorist attack that killed almost 1,200 people. That has earned him the nickname “Genocide Joe” from Progressives and others who support the Palestinians. Some of the groups behind those demonstrations are also Biden’s biggest political donors according to an analysis.
The report indicates two groups organizing the campus protests at Columbia University and elsewhere are IfNotNow and Jewish Voices for Peace. Both of those organizations are supported by the Tides Foundation, which is funded by George Soros. The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation has also previously supported the Tides Foundation, though a spokesperson said it doesn’t any longer, and that the organization doesn’t support the Pro-Palestine groups.
Soros’ support of the organizations might surprise some. He’s from a Jewish family and was born in Hungary in 1930. According to his organization, the Open Society Foundation (OSF), the Nazis murdered more than 500,000 Hungarian Jews, but the Soros family survived by concealing their backgrounds with false identification papers. The billionaire refused to comment on his charitable donations to the pro-Palestine groups. However, a spokesperson said the OSF has funded groups that advocate for the rights of Palestinians and Israelis, as well as a “peaceful resolution to the conflict in Israel.”
Nick and Susan Pritzker, the Hyatt Hotel heirs, have supported Biden and the pro-Palestine groups. David Rockefeller Jr. gave nearly $500,000 to the Jewish Voice for Peace organization.
Biden recently spoke out about the protests and has tried to support the right of the students to protest, while also condemning those who sow chaos.
