Clinton Slammed for Outlandish Trump Comparison

(ReliableNews.org) – During the 2016 campaign, Hillary Clinton called those who supported President Donald Trump a “basket of deplorables.” The insult reverberated through the electorate, and she went on to lose the election. Now, the failed Democratic candidate is back in the news for making a comment that some are viewing as “evil.”

On November 8, Clinton appeared on “The View” to speak to the Liberal co-hosts of the show. Sunny Hostin asked the former first lady what she thought might happen if Trump wins in 2024. She responded saying, “I think it would be the end of our country as we know it.” Clinton explained that during his first term, she thinks he was “somewhat restrained” because the people he hired “stood up to him.” If he wins re-election, she said he will “find people who have no principles, no conscience” to work for him. Then she made the remark that shocked people.

“Hitler was duly elected, right?” Clinton asked.

The former secretary of state went on to say Trump has “dictatorial, authoritarian tendencies,” and he’s telling people he intends to throw his opponents in jail.

Fox News host Harris Faulkner attacked Clinton for her remarks during a conversation with former Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-UT). “She’s so evil,” the Fox host said. Chaffetz agreed, calling Clinton “delusional” and saying that comparing Trump and Hitler “dilutes the atrocities that happened” during WWII. The former congressman went on to say the “world was a peaceful place” during the Trump Administration.

Clinton isn’t the first Democrat to compare Trump to the dictator who killed more the six million Jews and millions of others. In 2019, Rep. Jim Clyburn (D-SC) and Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY) called Trump a danger to America’s democracy. Clyburn talked about how Hitler rose to power. Nadler said Trump’s rhetoric against immigrants sounds like Hitler’s propaganda about the Jews.

Trump has not commented on Clinton’s remarks.
